Lost Dance

I am driving home and looking out the window...
Staring into the world…more so, in my mind.
I have come across a house....
I am stuck at a red light,
And you have made a guest appearance in my thoughts.
As I look in deeper in this window…
I can feel a certain level of happiness...
I can't see faces, however, I can see silhouettes…
And in an instant, I see a man and a woman,
Holding on to each other,
Looking into each other…and smiling.
They are Latin, I can tell this because the way they move....
And the swing of her hips,
Is what welcomed you into my mind.
That was us once upon a time...
The meaningless dancing we did then,
Now seems to have a tighter grip...
On my mind as I wonder,
Where did this dance get so lost for us?
Those moments we looked in one another's eyes,
Shared our dreams, our fears, our desires…
How did it all lose sight of how it began?
All I can do is smile at what I am witnessing today...
For a brief moment, I stole a moment from these lovers...
Their happiness reminds me of a happier time,
I once shared with you.
My light is now green…
I must keep driving,
And these lovers and thoughts...
Are now behind me....

Good , good I am starting to feel maybe not the pain because you probably have had time to deal with this situation and maybe im wrong but this person really occupided a space in your heart and maybe just maybe still has a little space in that muscular mass we call heart."For a brief moment , i stole a moment from these lovers...." this might be your best entry to date.....I can fully feel you threw yourself into the poem ....your essence permeates throughout!!!!!
