At some point it all changes.
The innocence of playing outside,
the inability to really understand time,
thinking a smile can change the world.
Reality then kicks in,
and there is a rude awakening.
But I have to tell you,
since I was a child, I never liked rude.
I found it mean, unnecessary
sprinkled with the absence of love.
So, I then must ask my adult self,
must I give into "reality" introduced by rude?
I'm an adult now, with the ability to decipher,
understand, choose the rules in which I live.
And if my foundation of love does not exude
from the choices I make, I must reevaluate…
The adult in me reminds the child in me,
yes life is a gift, and time is an invaluable commodity.
<3-it :) Thanks!
